Contractor who was born in Mumbai and who was a resident of Nigeria from the time she was just seven years old. She was well-versed in world cultures and traveling at such a young stage. Her education was at a boarding-school in London between 7 and 9. Her family later moved from London and moved to Toronto, Canada. Contractor was a brilliant student in Toronto and trained as an expert ballet dancer. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts an specialized arts public high school where she not only danced but studied theater as well. Contractor decided to take acting more seriously at age 16 after almost 10 year of dance. As she finished high school and was awarded an all-inclusive tuition grant to the University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual diploma in sociology and psychology. After one year at University, Contractor went to an open audition for the production Pericles at the prestigious famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the lead role. The 92 productions she performed received acclaim from Canadian theater critics. Contractor was offered the opportunity to join Stratford's conservatory, where the top eight men and four females are selected for a course lasting 20 weeks on classical theater which she gladly accepted. Her place was guaranteed for the following series of plays as she was offered the character for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
